French knots
Size: 20 x 15.5 cm
Greta had just learnt how to do french knots in her embroidery class (new to embroidery, she had only recently joined the class) and a personal photograph of an abandoned pier provided the inspiration for practising. The pier is worked in french knots with tails. (Note: the judges recognise that this is also known as 'pistil stitch', but it was felt to be an acceptable manipulation of a french knot.
