The Golden Age of Crewelwork

From a hanging, part of a bed-set, England, c.1700. Twill-woven linen/cotton embroidered with worsted wools in a wide range of stitches including stem, split, brick, basket, satin, fishbone, vandyke, wheatear, cross, petal, french knots, bullion knots and couching.
